Delayed Release for Solar Eclipse

Martinsville City Public Schools will dismiss 20 minutes later today due to the solar eclipse.  

Release times may be delayed an additional 15 minutes if necessary.

Eclipse

On Monday, August 21, 2017, all of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the sun. 

Martinsville City Public Schools will dismiss all schools 20 minutes later to allow students the opportunity to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of observing the Solar Eclipse. Dismissal times may be extended by 15 minutes if necessary.

Clearview will dismiss at 2:45 p.m.  Albert Harris Elementary and Patrick Henry Elementary Schools will dismiss at 3:05 p.m. Martinsville Middle School will dismiss at 3:40 p.m. and Martinsville High School will dismiss at 3:50 p.m. The morning arrival times for all schools will be as normal.

Your student will receive an informational letter with an Opt-out form if you choose not to allow your student to participate.
