MCPS Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Martinsville City Public Schools takes the safety of our students, faculty, and staff seriously.
Contact Cindy Dutill, Administrative Infection Preventionist if your child tests positive for COVID-19.

  • Masks are optional for students, staff, and visitors. This could change depending on transmission levels in Martinsville.

  • If you are sick stay home. Students and staff need to be fever free without fever reducing medications for 24-hours before returning to school or work.

  • COVID at-home tests are available for students and staff, by request. The parent or guardian will be given the test not the student.

  • Promote proper health and hygiene such as washing hands, covering mouth when coughing or sneezing, etc. If water and soap are unavailable use hand sanitizer.

  • Clean regularly.

MCPS works closely with the local Health Department and will continue to follow their recommendations as with all outbreaks of other viruses.
