Three MHS students in black scrubs over pink shirts smile and hold up certificates

Three Martinsville High School students have officially completed their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) coursework at Patrick & Henry Community College, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey!

At a special ceremony this morning, Zarela Saligan, Briana Garcia-Macias, and Syriah Roberts were presented with their certificates of completion, along with students from Henry County Public Schools. Over the last several years, this program has empowered seven MCPS students with CNA certification, opening doors to a promising future.

Next on their journey is the board certification test. Despite this final challenge, Zarela, Briana, and Syriah have already mastered the skills and knowledge necessary to kickstart their careers as CNAs. In fact, one potential employer was present at this morning's ceremony, ready to recruit new hires!

Ensuring equal opportunities for all, MCPS covers the full cost of supplies needed for the course, from textbooks to scrubs. Additionally, the district is committed to supporting students by covering the expenses associated with the board certification test. This financial assistance ensures that every student can pursue their dreams without any barriers.

Congratulations Zarela, Briana, and Syriah! Your passion for making a difference in the lives of others is truly inspiring! We celebrate your drive, dedication, and commitment to shaping a brighter future!
